Dry Patch and the use of Wetting Agents

Dry Patch

Dry patch occurs on lawns when the soil becomes water-repellent, also known as hydrophobic soil, resulting in the soil forming a surface that repels water  This causes a severe drought, even in wet weather, resulting in patches of dead grass, with the soil proving very difficult to re-hydrate. To treat the affected areas the lawn should be aerated, scarified if thatch is present and treated with a wetting agent.

Wetting Agents

A single application can last up to 5 months during the summer period. Improves root systems and reduces stresses.  Helps prevent and cure Localised Dry Patch (LDP) and increases the water’s ability to penetrate thatch and move through the soil.
