Dry Patch

Dry patch occurs on lawns when the soil becomes water-repellent also known as hydrophobic soil, resulting in the soil forming a surface that repels water, causing severe drought, even in wet weather, resulting in patches of dead grass, with the soil proving very difficult to re-hydrate.

To treat the affected areas the lawn should be aerated, scarified if thatch is present and treated with a wetting agent once a month for three months.
